The following information only applies where Source Radio is broadcasting on an Ofcom regulated frequency, such as FM or AM. At all other times, Source Radio will still look to adhere to the following information, but reserves the right to change or alter their procedures without notice.

Each local radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels, etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator.

News Bulletin Schedule

Currently ad-hoc. During periods where Source Radio is broadcasting on an Ofcom regulated frequency, our news bulletins are broadcast at 8:57am, 12:57pm and 4:57pm weekdays. Additional bulletins may compliment these during the week and over weekends. Bulletins will normally concentrate on University related and local news, before concentrating on national and internation stories.

Automated Programming

Generally the station will always be automated between 12pm and 8am. Outside of such times, the amount of automated programming is variable with other commitments (such as University courses) of the station’s staff. Previously broadcast live shows may be rebroadcast at weekends. Such shows will carry a recorded message at least once an hour to notify the listener that texts, emails and calls will not be answered or used.

Local programming

Most of our programming is produced and presented from Source Radio's studios in Coventry City Centre. Exceptions to this include special programming during holiday periods, and some weekend or evening shows. These may be pre-recorded off-site especially for the station and played out from the Coventry studios.

Making a complaint

If you have a complaint about any aspect of the on air output, in the first instance you should write to our Programme Controller. They can be contacted by email at programme.controller@sourceradio.co.uk or via telephone on 024 7979 5222.

If your response is unsatisfactory, you can complain to Source Radio's controlling body, Coventry University's Student Union. Further information can be obtained from their website at http://www.cusu.org

If your complaint relates to broadcast material during at time where Source Radio is broadcasting on an Ofcom regulated frequency, and your response is unsatisfactory, you can complain directly to the Government regulator, Ofcom.
